I am in the same boat as well. But you answer your question - am almost sure you don't need FP to renew your EAD. Having said that - why would renew your card in June? (Considering that you might not have received your EAD till Aug-Sep'07 of last year).
the fact that there were so many EAD applicants through June/July - the workload will be very high on USCIS so everyone will file at the earliest ie proposed 120 days prior to expiry.

I was listing to NPR Diane Rim show. Not sure who guests were. But When Diana asked if there is any chance that bill might come back.. He said, no bill won't come back but there is chance that some pieces of immigration may come in seperate pieces in around sep. He did say some bill might come for High skilled.. He gave example of Bill Clinton's health care immigration bill.

I wasn't filing for an extension but rather a transfer of my H1B. It expired while waiting for the transfer. Do you think that might make a difference....negatively?
My case is some what similar. My h1b extension packet was returned for lack of filing fee but before we could re-apply my old h1b expired. We applied however but USCIS approved h1B petition and didn't grant me h1b status i.e didn't issue I-94. I am required to leave the country for stamping.
Now we are filing nunc-pro-tunc petition essential pleading with USCIS it was no fault of my mine. You can do gooogle on this.

You cannot be in H-4 status and work, even with an EAD. Either you have H-4 status and don't work, or you work on the EAD. H-4 status does not allow for work, even with an EAD. If the employer won't extend your H-1B, you just ned to make sure that you always have a valid EAD and an Advance parole so you can travel.

I understand that "AOS Pending" is nothing but an authorized period of stay, but thats all you need to get resident tuition fee from a state University, if you have been a state resident for 12 months. I am not an accounting professional, but yes, the general rule of thumb is that you have to file state taxes in your state of residence and employment. If you have resided and worked in multiple states over the course of the year, then I would think that you would be required to file in all of those states. Although, there very well might be exemptions if you have worked in a certain state for a very short period of time.
If I were you, I would get my taxes done by a competent accounting professional, it doesn't cost a lot of money, and ensures things get done the right way.

My recent Visa was issues in Nov 2006 (less than year). This is my 2nd H1(new) with the same company. I worked with the same company in US from 1999 till 2004 dec. Then was in India for 2 years and came back again on new H1 in Jan 2007. Labor was filed in 2004.
If it is more than 1 year then G-825A wont be cross checked with the info what you gave on DS-157.

What�s the logic behind USCIS receiving 500,000 Naturalization Applications in July and August 2007? How do the VISA numbers being current relate to Naturalization?!?!?!?!

485 is pending and 15 months has passed since the last FP, you will receive a new FP notice. If you efile your EAD, you will receive a FP notice to get a FP & picture, which is different from 485 FP.
