    In theory, the idea that a gathering of even 200 people in company's parking lot (Cisco, goolge, microsoft) - IS GREAT.

    Immigration Voice has always appreciated efforts of members who get employers involved.

    However, I am inclined to believe that company HR will resist such activity on their own premises, especially during business hours or even lunch time. That's because its loss in terms of productivity and distractions for all employees, even those who are US citizens.

    BUT...

    If someone pulls this off and if there is a gathering to protest green card delays at any of these companies -- Cisco, Oracle, Microsoft, Google, Intel, Amazon...anyone...THEN IV leadership will fly to such an even from wherever they have to fly and attend it at a moments notice (provided your employer allows us in your buildings/premises of course).

    Not only that, if you can pull it off, then IV will honor you will a "IMMIGRATION VOICE MEDAL OF HONOR" for doing that. Its a square medal with imprint of GC on one side and EAD card on another side. :):)

    So if you can, by all means, pursue that opportunity and email me or Aman on how we can help you do that. Microsoft has 3500 employees in green card wait line in Seattle alone. Cisco is also hundreds of employees in San Jose alone (and Cisco employees is one of my favorite groups of people in IV, they have shown up every where IV has done anything...must be something in the water out there in the bay area, its a land of activists...).

    It is a public Forum. It is created for sharing ideas among the members. The success story of mr Reddy will give inspiration to other members to be successful. His information was realy helpful to lot of people.If it helps to anybody ,why do you want to stop this discussion ? If you are not comfortable with this,you don't need to read this thread ! OK ?

    It is created to sharing ideas among members - to resolve immigration matters - not to discuss other topics like real estate investments etc. It is okay to quote one's or someone else's progress in financial matters in the context of his/her immigration status, but to make a complete turn and just discuss the specifics of financial investments etc. doesn't have a place on this forum.

    Hi:
    Lot of people get stuck in the name check in AOS, and many of them wait for at least 6 months. I am wondering if someone may get stuck in namcecheck and may have to wait for months in home country while doing cp?

    At least it relieves some tensions when we do the predictions. These are vents for those who have been in the queue long time waiting for the Golden card (GC). Well, some of them would be sore on the looonnnng process.

    We know that the relief is short lived once the bulletin come out.

    Same things have been circling on and off.

    Why should'nt EB3 move? EB2 alone need not move. The more things move in the immigration front, the more we could expect that they are trying to support the program than bust it.

    I applied for PIO card for my son and daughter and both was rejected as both me and my wife are Indian citizens. I was under the impression that kids who hold PIO card need not have to pay NRI fees during college. Is this something true?

    You raise compelling points, and your argument is an illustration of why we should work to ensure our visa polices are sound, reasonable, and equitable. Until we enact comprehensive immigration reform, we are likely to be faced with similarly difficult situations.     In its note http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/VisaBulletin2Jul07.pdf, the USCIS clearly says it would reject applications starting 7/2. So, how can it accept July applications--especially when many of them haven't been sent yet?

    Read the instructions on the I485.
    You might only need a receipt notice for the I140 to file I485.
    Makes sense since you can concurrent file I140 and I485 anyway.

    I filed I485 two months ago, and seem to recall reading this on the instructions or elsewhere.

    I would also do AOS not CP.

    I also have a 3 year Bachelor's degree (BSc Physics) + 3 Year masters degree (MCA) from India. I would like to get it evaluated. Could you please let me know which education evaluation agency you used?

    Is you bachelor and master degree in the same or related discipline? I read somewhere that the bachelors and master's will have to be in the same or related fields for it to be considered equivalent to US Masters degree.

    I haven't seen one 140 get denied due to a 3 +3 education. Any evaluation agency will give masters equivalent. You can use any one of them.

    I can understand cases where dates are current. But how they decide on cases which might have "visas available in coming months"? Do they know beforehand the movement of dates for coming months? or does that mean they continue pre-adjudicating cases in an order (probably by Priority Date)?

    I am a Chemical Engineer ( 16 years in India as a Senior Guy + more than 5 years in US )

    I am a founder team member of a high technology advanced material company, created with the help from a VC & active support of local congressman. We literally reopened a closed factory in Ohio to start this R&D / manufacturing company. ( Politicians have been making a lot of noise to revive manufacturing economy in Midwest)

    We have hired about 18 people till now & we are NOT an IT company


    I was accorded honorary citizenship by the mayor of city of Clinton, MS in 1989 for my extracurricular activities but did not move to US untill 2000

    For last five years I have been through this immigration circus & had to file L/C multiple times. Currently, I am not able to file I-485 & I am in my 6th Year of H1-B
    PCS case is more useful as he is not purely from IT/Software
    Every body else have misconception that retrogression -- backlog is affecting only software professionals(yes we are more number of affected people)
    seems he is a senior mature guy and can represent our concerns corrctly., did one one from IV talk with him personally?

    Thanks styrum. That sheds some light on the issue. From that I deduce that the only way to file an EB2 for jobzone 4 /svp 7 occupation, while minimizing the risk of audits, is for the advertised position to require an MS+0 and nothing else. If someone happens to have a BS+5 then they can use that as a substitute for the MS+0.

    If anyone has been able to successfully file under circumstances negating the above, please do share the specifics with us .

    'ideas to increase publicity' but only few members took active interest and participated.

    Now that we have you, i am sure you would help in this effort by sending out emails yourself and also other members can join you to contact media. I wish we can all send multiple emails to every newspaper, every tv station and radio station in this country and apprise them of our cause. such letters urging news orgs to cover our issue will help us get much needed media attention and then something will DEFNITELY happen in the coming months.

    unless I am egregiously mistaken, I 140 is totally employers and not employee's. How can you invoke FOIA on that? I mean freedom of info doesnt mean a breach of privacy or disclose "compny/personal" documentation. Nixstor..i have only same view but i dont understand how USCIS is proceeding...As per gc_in_30_years it seems possible..but never trust Customer Support at USCIS..Many Dont know the rules..

    gc_in_30_years..let us know when you got the copy.
