That's terrible. I use a computer because I don't want to use paper. And I don't want to see paper on my computer screen. Bone-heads. Need to get rid of these old paper-centric fogies at Apple.

She's a MANfor crying out loud
Haha. Typically I'd think this type of reply would indicate considerable ignorance, but you used female pronouns, so I'm not sure..

I would happily pay the current fee for MobileMe if Apple offered some better options for hosting a website. Right now I pay for web hosting for a family blog and a flickr pro account. If I could host my wordpress blog on my idisk space with my own domain name, I would sign up right now.
You could always do this. I have my own domain name and host on MobileMe.
Though I haven't figured out how to use an email address using my domain name and have mail hosted via MobileMe. I wish they would add that feature.

I'm just curious if the projected combined CMA / HSPA chips to be included in the iPhone would support HSPA+? That would at least give us some extra speed for iPhone 5. I don't think the current AT&T iPhone 4 does support HSPA+ - unless I'm mistaken.

What's the next logical step in a computer interface? I used to say "Computer, show me the money" to open Quicken back in pre-OS X days. More of a gimmick than anything else, but imagine if the Finder and maybe even other apps became "speakable."
Me: "Check mail"
Computer: "You have nine new messages. Would you like me to read them?"
Me: "No, thanks."
(clicks on an email, reads message)
Me: "Reply to this message"
Computer: "Type or speak?
Me: "Type"
type-type-type
Me: "Computer, I'd like to add a photo of the kids to this email."
Computer: "iphoto has 6,813 pictures of the kids, which one would you like?"
Me: "One from the birthday party last week."
Computer: (a strip from iphoto appears) "Here are 23 from last week. I've highlighted the one where your wife fixed the red eye. Is that the one you want?"
Me: "Yes, that will be fine."
Computer adds the picture to stationery in the email, other pictures go away.
Me: "Send the email"
Me: "...and order me a pizza."
This kind of thing can't be too far off. A 75 mhz Performa could do it in a rudimentary way. Imagine what a modern Mac may be able to do. "Speakeasy" has a nice ring to it.
You watch too much Star Trek. It's still a computer, not a digital house servant. Although..... that would be pretty cool. "Computer, go make me a sandwich."

Hmmm....it is Tuesday isn't it? :)
Cool my long wait is over. Nice with the bump in ram and FW800 (yes!). :)
Bummer that theres no 7200rpm HD on 15" and gosh darn it getting hit again with the lame video cards.
Oh, well you never get everything...I'll be ordering a 15" soon. Hopefully it wont be a lap burner.
Am very happy with the RAM but OMG, is it expensive (590 in Belgium)
Bought it anyways. Would like to find out if I swap that second dimm out for a 2GB, would it run at 4GB of RAM? Any takers?

I don't see this happening, TV technology changes to fast to get stuck with an expensive TV that you need to keep for many years to justify the higher price.
Case in point the new Bose videowave TV it's over $5k for a 46" tv!

I mentioned this in the last thread, but I just picked up some of these leather covers for my Moleskine's and they're pretty sweet. Made by Inkleaf Leather (http://www.etsy.com/shop/InkleafLeather?ga_search_query=inkleaf+leather&ga_search_type=seller_usernames) on Etsy if anyone cares.
Really like the look of those! But I can't afford to get them now :(

well there you have it apple: in this day and age sueing somebody over patents who has more than you might not always be the smartest idea
fact is: between those big cooperations it has become usual practice to let a certain amount of patent abuse slide since it profits all sides if technology can be used by more, and it also helps adoptions rates (famous example: IBM and their countless PC hardware related patents)

Looks like you are your own team?
Where is the fun there? By joining us you can help a top 100 team and keep visibility if you are in the top 20 crunchers of a team. If you join a huge team, you have no visibility.
You can compete with team members...
Check this:
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=3446
My criterias for being in a team are:
- the team must be in the top 100 (dropped my old team because of that)
- I must be a top 20 cruncher in that team
- the team must be mac related

Nice metric you have there, $some people on the internet have said it, thus it must be true.
Pretty amazing. Now "speculation" is considered "fact". No wonder this country has so many problems.

1) Lose job at Engadget
2) Start new website
3) Publish iphone "rumor" to attract readership
4) Profit!
do you know how dumb that is? He's moving on to a new company. Along with multiple other people. Also, he was dead on about the Verizon iPhone a YEAR before everyone else. I think his inside sources are more accurate than you think.
Also, remember when everyone thought the leaked iPhone 4 was really ugly and there was no way it was real. Exactly...

This is pretty cool, since it means we can measure how thick color is.
As far as light goes, where black is the absence of all color, white is the presence of all colors.
Clearly, this means all those extra colors in white are making the phone thicker.

I was just curious, because it seems as if it is a "different" person posting. Perhaps in a day or two we'll see you posting how your little sister or mom got hold of your MacRumors account and posted all kind of weird stuff.

This sounds just like what they said with Xbox. They want it to do something new, they expect it to be the next big thing, and it's gonna take a few years. I think once Wii is released, we'll see 360 take a market dive just like 360 did, and Zune may well face the same fate.

this iPad-ness of Lion has me a bit worried. I don't want my interface looking like some cheap toy.
Hope they'll come up with something classier to match the hardware
